Infant Products

Park Home Medical Equipment carries several items specifically for infants including:

PEP Bed

The PEP Bed is an FDA-cleared, portable medical device created to treat jaundiced infants. The Ultra BiliLight Model 2000 uses custom, high-intensity blue/white fluorescent light technology to emit the highest dose of healing light available.

The Ultra BiliLight heals jaundiced infants faster than any conventional or fiber optic phototherapy equipment on the market today, including double banked hospital units.

Other features:
* Provides up to 12 times more PTU's (Phototherapy Treatment Units) than any competing unit;
* Gives doctors a greater degree of confidence to write a prescription, especially when bilirubin levels are higher, for home neonatal phototherapy compared to competing units;
* Offers parents the greatest ability to cuddle, bond and nurse their infant by using intermittent therapy, unlike the nuisance of tether cords and restrictive clothing found on other units;
* Is the only medical device on the market that has a temperature controlled environment to keep baby safe and comfortable during treatment;
* Has a BabyFace Shield that attaches to the unit eliminating the need for annoying infant eye patches;
* Is truly portable, weighing under 15 pounds;
* Is simple to operate, sets up in less than a minute, and offers the lowest maintenance of any unit; and
* Is sturdy because of its unique rigid, triangular design

Infant ProductsHome Photo Therapy Units for Jaundice

Jaundice is a common, temporary and usually harmless condition in newborn infants. It affects both full-term and premature babies. Jaundice occurs when there is a build-up of the naturally occurring substance in the blood called bilirubin. As bilirubin begins to build up, it deposits on the fatty tissue of the skin causing the baby’s skin and whites of the eyes to appear yellow. Bilirubin is released into the bloodstream when red blood cells are broken down. The bilirubin is then processed in the liver and is eventually excreted from the body. High levels of bilirubin can be dangerous to a baby.

Photo Therapy (photo=light; therapy=treatment) is the process of using special light to eliminate bilirubin in the blood. These light waves absorbed by your baby’s skin and blood change bilirubin into products, which can pass through their system. Today your baby can receive safe and effective treatment in your home.
